Property tax payments can be made by cash, interac, cheque, post-dated cheque or through telephone or internet banking. The District also has a drop box located to the right of the main entrance. Please remember that payments put in the drop box after the close of business on the due date will be considered late. When paying online or over the telephone make sure to enter your roll number for property taxes. Make sure you are aware of your bank’s cut-off time and processing schedules in order to avoid penalties.
Regular prepayments can be made from August 10th to May 10th by estimating next year’s taxes and dividing it into 10 equal payments. You can also specify any other amount above $20 or join after August 10th and calculate the payment based on the remaining term. Interest is paid on the prepayment amount at 3% below the prime rate and is tax-free under Canada Revenue Agency regulations. Download the Property Tax Pre-Payment Plan Application Form
