Utility Billing

Sewer utilities are billed annually on property tax notices.

Connecting to Sewer

There is a one-time connection fee of $1000 to hook up to the sewer system.  Other up-front costs may include on-site construction as required. The Water/Sewer Connection Application is part of the building permit process. Please read the Installation of Sewer Service information bulletin for guidelines and building code requirements for the installation of sewer service.

Septage Handling Facility

The Regional District is responsible for the Septage Handling Facility for this region and has a rate of $35.70/m3. Contact the Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO) for more information on Sewage Disposal and Commercial Dumping Rates.

Inspection Chambers (IC’s)

IC’s are the location where your house joins the sewer system. If your IC is located in your garden or lawn you might have the green looking capped pipe, if it is in your driveway you might have the metal box. Do not tamper with either of these! Doing so may cause a blockage and in turn flood your house.

Wastewater Treatment Plant

The Wastewater Treatment Plant is a Class III treatment facility. Biological treatment, gravity settling, centrifuge dewatering, tile-field effluent disposal, DAF thickening and grit removal are some of the processes onsite. Solids produced are trucked to the OgoGrow facility in Vernon and made into compost.
